The polymer modified MasterSeal is similar to the MasterSeal in section 11, but as the name would suggest, there are additional polymer binders which add strength and durability to this seal coat. Polymer modified MasterSeal can be applied industrially by a contractor (here, the application was by Apex from Golden, CO), or purchased directly from SealMaster and applied. This material is strengthened by sand and solids at a rate of 48-55% by volume to fill surface voids and keep traction on the road’s surface. This material can be applied by a distributor truck or by hand.

The application was done in two coats, allowing around 2 hours between for curing. The road was closed for 24 hours before being reopened for traffic.
