Liquid Road is a thick asphalt-emulsion seal coat, reinforced by fibers and aggregate. The application here was performed by Apex, a contractor from Golden, CO. The material was applied via a specifically constructed machine, called a squeegee buggy. Liquid Road is applied very thick, with a recommended 4 pounds of aggregate per 1 gallon of emulsion. This seal coat will, like others, protect the pavement from oxidization, weathering and fill surface voids.

The application was done in two coats, allowing around 2 hours between for curing. The road was closed for 24 hours before being reopened for traffic.
